Founded in 1942, Oxfam is a global organization (confederation of 20 independent charitable organizations) working to end the injustice of poverty. Oxfam helps people build better futures for themselves, hold the powerful accountable, and save lives in disasters. Oxfam GB  is a member of the international confederation, Oxfam.


In 2013, DE conducted an Operational Research on Sahel Food Crisis and Gender in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. The research used mixed methods approach which include; interviews and surveys and document reviews. The main aim was to assess the food crisis in the mentioned Sahel countries, taking gender issues into consideration.
