Independent Evaluation of UNIDO’s China Country Programme

DeftEdge participated in the independent evaluation of UNIDO’s cooperation with China from 2016 to 2024, assessing the organization’s contributions to inclusive and sustainable industrial development. The evaluation examined UNIDO’s strategic positioning, transformative impact, and China’s dual role as both beneficiary and emerging donor. Through fieldwork across multiple provinces and in-depth stakeholder engagement, the team identified lessons, best practices, and forward-looking recommendations to inform UNIDO’s next Country Programme. The evaluation supports stronger, more impactful collaboration between UNIDO and China in advancing global sustainable development.
