Data collection in Rwanda gets underway

January 3, 2024

DeftEdge team is in Kigali to launch data collection for the "Baseline evaluation of the Strengthening Food Systems to Empower Smallholders Farmers and Young People in Rwanda (Shora Neza) program." The program, supported by a $15 million grant from the Mastercard Foundation (MCF), aims to enhance the quality of life of beneficiaries and their families by increasing agricultural productivity, creating employment opportunities for women and youth, and promoting the development of youth-led enterprises across 30 districts in the country.

The baseline evaluation will provide a situational analysis of the program at its start, and serve as the basis for outcome monitoring, as well as the mid-term and final evaluations that will cover the program period from March 2022 through March 2027.

The objective of this baseline evaluation is to establish starting points for all performance indicators outlined in the program's logic framework, and to provide valuable context for the mid-term and final evaluations to assess the program's relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, and impact.

Stay tuned for more.
